The MCT "Mapped Capacitor Technology" maintains a constant "sweet spot" air pressure behind the "magic" pellet by gradually increasing the air pressure at the firing valve as the pressure declines with an internal pressure sensor located in the main cylinder. A 230 BAR charge will produce approximately 160 consistent shots when the "Pwr 2" (70%) setting is selected and approximately 80 consistent shots when the "Full Power" setting is selected.
At "Full Power" I used a 14.3 grain JSB Diabolo Exact with a starting velocity of 950 fps and at the 30th shot I had only dropped to 940 fps. As I continued up to the 80th shot at a velocity of 679 fps and an ending air pressure of 62.8 BAR, my groups had only grown to 5mm. At somewhere between the 81st and 90th shot, the groups began to grow- I was running out of air pressure and at the 90th shot when I stopped shooting the velocity had dropped to 566 fps and the pressure was down to 33.3 BAR. Never the less, I was impressed- this is what I would call consistent accuracy- the MCT really does work as advertised!
Also the MCT makes it possible for a super quick lock time (the period of time between the squeeze of the trigger and the pellet’s acceleration inside the barrel) making it easy to get outstanding down range results.
In addition, the MK4 Panther air rifle excels in accuracy with its electronic fully adjustable match trigger and its target grade Lothar Walther barrel. Not only are all of the electronic components weather-proofed, but a zinc-based matte coating is applied inside and out to restrict corrosion from forming inside the air cylinder. Internal corrosion is the biggest enemy of the PCP air gun.
Besides its advanced cutting edge technology, the MK4 Panther air rifle is total “eye candy” with its target style ambidextrous stock created by notable designer Gary Crane and then manufactured by the master craftsmen of Minelli in Italy. The “soft touch” finish is a rubberized coating that is applied over a wood frame giving it a solid but extremely comfortable feel... in fact, the "feel" is so comfortable, it would be something to cuddle up with.
